A home renovation project provides an ideal opportunity to revamp the exterior of your home as well as the interior.

When this Mt Albert house underwent a major renovation, which included a large addition, the owner chose to install new designer uPVC spouting and downpipes from the Marley Stratus Design Series®.

“I love the idea of copper spouting, but I don’t like the way the copper looks after a few years,” the owner says. “It can look dirty and very dark, with none of the original shine.” The owner consequently specified copper-look uPVC spouting and downpipes that will keep their good looks for decades to come.

We love the way the copper finish really highlights the house – everyone comments on it, and the builder says he will use the same spouting on his next project. Marley even went so far as to custom-fabricate spouting corners for the curved spouting around the bay window at the front of the house.

Copper spouting theft is not an uncommon occurrence, but when Bear Park Early Childhood Centre, Auckland, had their copper spouting stolen for the third time, enough was enough.

Deterring the copper thieves

While copper spouting has always been admired for its aesthetic effect, the recurring crime was enough to deter the nursery from the copper look permanently… or so they thought.
