Wall to ceiling windows to maximise the sea views and a park across the road, Anne Moors weatherboard house in Maraetai isn’t your typical family home. The Moors purchased this house in 2014, once it had been renovated by their daughter and her husband. This allowed the retired couple to be involved in various renovation decisions, including the choice of spouting and downpipes.
SMS plumbing owner, Shay Spyve and a fellow employee installed the system for Anne in 6 hours, both the upper and lower levels including downpipes. Having run a plumbing company in a coastal area for many years, he has noticed the ever-changing rainwater market. Shay acknowledged the tendency homeowners have to lean toward more weather resistant products, “Copper is becoming a less desirable product due to the corrosion factor”. He went on to explain, that the Marley Stratus Design Series fulfilled its mandatory need “with its high flow volume being able to catch and retain the water without it spilling over the edge”.
I thought the Titanium colour from the Stratus Design Series would go really well, and it has proven to fit perfectly with the colours of the house
This home needed a durable spouting and downpipe system which could stand up against the coast’s harsh weather, whilst matching the overall aesthetic. The Marley Stratus Design Series delivers on this need and with its 15 year guarantee ensures it’s a look that lasts. Simply stated by Shay, “It is plastic, durable and the colour suited the house”.
The Marley Stratus Design Series® is offered in Typhoon® spouting and 80mm downpipe with titanium or copper hybrid-metallic finishes available. This Maraetai property utilised the internal brackets in the titanium finish.

Located in one of Nelsons most prestigious areas, this two storey home with 180 degree sea views of Nelson Harbour and Tasman Bay is truly one of a kind.
Built by Bruce Design & Build, this house reflects its surrounding environment whilst maximising the stunning setting. Their vision was to build a high end property with a Balinese style exterior. As owner Russell Bruce explains, “We really wanted to build something unique and unlike anything else in the market”. This tone is reflected in the colours and products used throughout the houses exterior including the distinctive use of a thatched soffit. Specifying designer uPVC spouting and downpipes in a copper hue from the Marley Stratus Design Series® complemented this style whilst overcoming any coastal issues associated with corrosion and rust.
The Stratus Copper spouting and downpipe fits the overall look of the house and the price was good when compared to metal copper
This home needed a low maintenance, durable spouting and downpipe system which could stand up against the coast’s harsh weather, whilst matching the overall aesthetic. The Marley Stratus Design Series® delivers on this need and with its 15 year guarantee ensures it’s a look that lasts.

A home renovation project provides an ideal opportunity to revamp the exterior of your home as well as the interior.
When this Mt Albert house underwent a major renovation, which included a large addition, the owner chose to install new designer uPVC spouting and downpipes from the Marley Stratus Design Series®.
“I love the idea of copper spouting, but I don’t like the way the copper looks after a few years,” the owner says. “It can look dirty and very dark, with none of the original shine.” The owner consequently specified copper-look uPVC spouting and downpipes that will keep their good looks for decades to come.
We love the way the copper finish really highlights the house – everyone comments on it, and the builder says he will use the same spouting on his next project. Marley even went so far as to custom-fabricate spouting corners for the curved spouting around the bay window at the front of the house.
The Marley Stratus Design Series® is purpose-built for New Zealand’s changeable climate and will never rust. Designed to be eco-friendly, all Marley systems are 100% recyclable. Peace of mind is also assured – the systems come with a 15-year guarantee.

Situated overlooking New Plymouth’s beautiful, yet unforgiving coastline, this stylish gem needed a low maintenance, durable spouting system which could not only stand up against the coast’s harsh weather, but was also stylish, and complimented the contemporary aesthetic of the house.
William Johnson’s new residence built by Fabish and Jackson, was designed to reflect its surrounding environment and as such uses natural colourings throughout. Specifying designer uPVC spouting and downpipes in a copper hue from the Marley Stratus Design Series® accentuated this connection to the natural environment.
The secret to the Marley Stratus Design Series® besides its eye–catching looks is the advanced manufacturing process. Co-extrusion manufacturing combines an internal layer that minimises thermal movement with an outer layer that provides the premium aesthetic and durability. The result is durable colour with high UV and weather resistance – Marley Stratus Design Series® spouting and downpipes will never rust and is guaranteed for 15 years.

Copper spouting theft is not an uncommon occurrence, but when Bear Park Early Childhood Centre, Auckland, had their copper spouting stolen for the third time, enough was enough.
While copper spouting has always been admired for its aesthetic effect, the recurring crime was enough to deter the nursery from the copper look permanently… or so they thought.
Marley was made aware of the situation by one of their recommended installers, Supercity Property Services. Marley knew exactly what to do – their New Zealand made, designer uPVC spouting and downpipes known as the Marley Stratus Design Series® was the perfect answer to the situation.
Marley offered to replace Bear Park’s system free of charge with their uPVC Typhoon® spouting and 80mm round downpipe in a copper-metallic finish. This has solved the nursery’s problem once and for all without the need to sacrifice their much loved copper look.
The Stratus spouting and downpipe system is low maintenance, which suits Bear Park’s busy schedule. Even with the centre’s position near the coast, products from the Marley Stratus will never rust and they are guaranteed for 15 years. Not only are there two colour finishes to choose from, the Marley Stratus Design Series® is available with internal or external brackets to create different looks. Knowing that the product is also 100% recyclable ensures complete peace of mind.
We’re really thrilled with the result; the product looks great, and we don’t have to worry about thieves anymore. We can’t thank Marley enough for their generosity
says Nikki Joyce, owner of Bear Park Nursery.
